Skandia Sail for Gold, the sixth leg of the 2011 ISAF Sailing World Cup started on a flat note with most classes postponed ashore waiting for the wind. When it finally arrived the Finns got just one race in with Dan Slater (NZL) taking the gun from Ben Ainslie (GBR) and Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic (CRO).

Start of the medal raceThe Delta Lloyd Regatta for the Finns ended as it began – with strong winds and a battle between Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic (CRO) and Ed Wright (GRR) for overall honours. In the end Wright led the medal race from start to finish, while Kljaovic Gaspic spent the race recovering from a poor first beat to cross in third, but not enough to retain the gold. Brendan Casey (AUS) took the bronze.
For the second time this week at the Delta Lloyd Regatta the Finns had a no-race day, so the standings from day four will determine who goes into the medal race. European Champion Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic (CRO) will take a three point lead over World Champion Ed Wright (GBR) and a nine point lead over Brendan Casey (AUS) into the medal race. Only these three can win the regatta, but positions down to sixth could steal a podium place.
