Egor Terpigorev (RUS) is featured on the cover of the Auguist edition of FINNFARE from the Internatioal Finn Class. He was taking part in a Rule 42 clinic held in Valencia before the Finn Silver Cup (Junior World Championship). Though too old to compete in the Silver Cup, he also represented Russia at the Aquece Rio Olympic test event in August.
Once again the leading sailor all week has been beaten by the medal race. Pieter-Jan Postma (NED) had led the Aquece Rio 2015 test event all week but couldn't match world champion Giles Scott (GBR) in the final decisive showdown under the Sugar Loaf. And what a thrilling final showdown it was. While Scott took the Gold, Tapio Nirkko (FIN) concluded an outstanding series with a second place to take the Silver. Postma goes home with the bronze.
It's come down to a four way fight for gold. After leading all week, Pieter-Jan Postma (NED) will take a one point lead into Saturday's medal race over Giles Scott (GBR). Tapio Nirkko (FIN) is seven points behind Scott with Jonathan Lobert (FRA) just two points further back. The gold will come one from of these four. Two other boats have a possibility to take the bronze medal.
Pieter-Jan Postma (NED) leads the Finn fleet at the Aquece Rio 2015 Test Event for the fifth day in a row and has again stretched his lead to five points with just three races to sail. Tapio Nirkko (FIN) is back up to second while Giles Scott (GBR) remains six points off the lead in third. Race wins went to Postma, Scott and Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic (CRO).
