The German Championship is being hosted by Segler Club Dummer
Day 1
Ondrej Teply from Czech Republic is leading the 2025 Internationale Deutsche Meisterschaft for Finn after three races on Sunday on the Dümmer See. Last year’s winner, Germany’s Andre Budzien is second with Stefan de Vries, from The Netherlands in third.
The 2025 German Championship has attracted a massive 89 entries from 10 countries to one of the shallowest sailable lakes in Europe, very ably hosted by the Segler Club Dümmer. While the weather was sometimes inclement, with very grey skies, cold wind and sometimes wet air – with a brief moment of sunshine – there was some very close racing in 6-12 knots of breeze.
Budzien took the opening race after several recalls, leading from start to finish. Then Denmark’s Peter Bøye led most of the second race only to be overhauled by Teply. In the third race, Rainer Haacks was the early leader, only to again find Teply passing him to take his second win of the day.
The forecast for the rest of the event is light winds. Racing continues until Wednesday.

Day 2
No racing was possible on Day 2 of the 2025 German Championship at Segler Club Dümmer. The forecast was never promising, and the Dümmer See remained windless all day despite the sun popping through for a few minutes. Racing was abandoned at 15.00 followed by abundant free beer and snacks and another generous tombola with prizes from many sponsors.
Forecast for Tuesday is much better with some wind expected. The event continues until Wednesday.

Day 3
After Monday was lost with no wind, Ondrej Teply extended his lead at the 2025 Finn German Championship on the Dümmer See on Tuesday, winning two out of the three races sailed. Defending champion, Andre Budzien, from Germany remains second while Fabian Lemmel moves up to third.
The day began wet and cold, and later became drier and colder. The wind went from side to side and up and down and caused frequent postponements and the whole operation was on the water for more than five hours to get in three 45 minute races.
Teply dominated the first race of the day after three recalls and postponements, leading all the way for a comfortable win in 7-9 knots. Stefan de Vries crossed a distant second with Zdeněk Gebhart third. Jurgen Eiermann led round the top in the next race. But Teply was not far back and took the lead on the second upwind to win again from Lemmel and Klaus Reffelman. Then the final race was won by Gebhart, leading all the way for a massive win from Arkadii Kistanov and Karel van Hellemond. Teply got buried on the first upwind and finally crossed in seventh, while Gebhart actually had the best score of anyone all day.
Teply has a 15 point lead with one day, and up to two races remaining, though the forecast is again for very little wind, so not much is expected.

Day 4
Ondrej Teply, from Czech Republic, has won the 2025 Finn German Championship on the Dümmer See after no more races were possible on the final day, Wednesday. The forecast of very light wind proved correct, and an early decision was made to abandon for the day.
Andre Budzien was the leading German sailor to take silver, while Fabian Lemmel took the bronze.
