NIOTE: THIS PAGE WILL BE UPDATED WHEN NEW INFORMATION IS KNOWN SO PLEASE CHECK BACK OCCASIONALLY
We are in the process of obtaining shipping quotes for the above events in February 2026 and have sought quotes from 3 shipping companies/forwarding Agents. To date we have received one from Seaway Logistics who handled the OK's earlier this year. We expect the other quotes from GAC Pindar and DB Schenker soon.
The cost of 40 foot High Cube FCL Containers vary depending which Port the boats are shipped from.
The prices listed below are initial costs based on the number of containers required from the various ports and 9 boats per container.
Copenhagen -Brisbane - Copenhagen: Euro 1,500 per boat.
Hamburg - Brisbane - Hamberg: Euro 1,600 per boat.
Rotterdam - Brisbane - Rotterdam: Euro 1,600 per boat.
Lisbon - Brisbane - Lisbon: Euro 1,700 per boat.
Valencia - Brisbane - Valencia: Euro 1,900 per boat.
Southampton - Brisbane - Southampton: GBP 2,000 per boat.
Los Angeles - Brisbane - Los Angeles: USD 2,050 per boat.
Auckland - Brisbane - Auckland: NZD 2,250 per boat.
The number of containers will vary depending on demand. This indicative price is inclusive of all the relevant charges related to shipping except for Insurance and a Carnet. You will need a Carnet to avoid having to pay security deposits. These can generally be organised through your local Council/Chamber of Commerce.
When we have received and reviewed the other quotes we will let everyone know the company we suggest/recommend and the contact details your end. We would prefer to coordinate with a common forwarding agent rather than everyone doing their own thing, however if there is a better price or option, then go ahead.
Our Association (IFAA Inc.) will not be taking responsibility for payment of shipping. This will have to be arranged by a nominated person on behalf of the owners of the boats in the container.
The plan is to have the empty container delivered to a nominated location close to the shipping port ONE week prior to departure. The boats are to be packed by your team and then collected for shipment to the departure port as shown above.
Closer to the time we will send everyone detailed information of packing requirements as Australia has very strict biosecurity protocols.
It is important to remember, shipping prices are continually changing (UP or DOWN) and it is not possible to lock in prices so far from the actual shipping date.
We believe boats would have to be shipped no later than mid October 2025.
Containers can be left at the club as we have plenty of room. We are attempting to have Customs and Biosecurity clear the containers at the club which will save a lot of time and headaches. We understand there could be costs associated with leaving the containers at the club for such a duration but in our negotiations we hoping to have that waived.
Our aim is to assist with shipping costs should we have sufficient financial support from sponsors, however we cannot guarantee this at the moment.
The purpose of this information is to give you an estimate of the shipping cost to enable everyone to plan ahead for the events.
We have been working with Remko Boot from Holland who has volunteered to assist with arrangements in Europe.
Charter boats will be available. John Alexander together with Steven Bond is the Devoti agent in Australia. John confirmed Devoti will be shipping a minimum of 1 possibly 2 containers (9 -18 boats) of new Fantasticas for charter. John advised 3 have already been chartered. Filipe has indicated he will send boats depending on shipping costs and likewise Andreas wants to ship from Valencia.
We have been asked by some countries if they can bring their own container. the response has been….. “It should be ok, containers have to be seaworthy with a valid CSC plate and price may vary for Shipper Owned Container. It could be more expensive”. We will advise when we have more information.
Attached below is an aerial photo of our Club location to highlight some of the facilities. The International & domestic airport is next to the Port of Brisbane. Water temperature in February is around 25 C…..You won’t need thick hikers or thermals..The Motel https://www.manlymarinacove.com/ located at the club is very convenient, however there are numerous other accommodation facilities to suit individual budgets close to the club.
If there is any further information you require, please contact me.

David Bull,
