Martijn van Muyden is the new Finn European Champion
Martijn van Muyden, from The Netherlands, has won 2026 Open Finn European Championship in Gdynia, Poland after three final races were sailed on Saturday. Defending champion, Valerian Lebrun, from France, won two of the races to end up second with Peter Peet, also from The Netherlands, in third. Poland’s Michał Krasodomski placed fourth and won the U29 Finn European Championship.
No racing again on fourth day of Finn Europeans in Gdynia
Once again, no races were possible at the 2026 Open and U29 Finn European Championship in Gdynia, Poland, due to very light winds. The fleet attempted one race in the early afternoon, but it was abandoned on the first downwind as the breeze evaporated into Polish thin air. 98 Finns from 17 countries are taking part in the event. One more race is needed to have a valid championship.

Bas de Waal takes lead at Finn Europeans in Gdynia after one light wind race
Only one race was managed in light winds on the second day of the 2026 Open and U29 Finn European Championship in Gdynia, Poland, part of the LOTTO Gdynia Sailing Days. Bas de Waal, from The Netherlands, led all the way to win the race and take the overall lead. Poland’s Michal Krasodomski drops to second with John Greenwood, from Britain is third with. 98 Finns from 17 countries are taking part.

Michal Krasodomski, from Poland, is the early leader after the opening day of the 2026 Open and U29 European Championship in Gdynia, Poland, part of the LOTTO Gdynia Sailing Days. John Greenwood, from Britain, is second with Bas de Waal, from The Netherlands in third. The race wins went to Krasodomski and France’s Valerian Lebrun. 98 Finns from 17 countries are taking part.
Tropical weather welcomes Finn fleet to Gdynia for Open Europeans
After three days of equipment inspection and registration, 103 Finns from 17 countries are ready to compete for the 2026 Open and U29 European Championship, part of the LOTTO Gdynia Sailing Days. On Monday the practice race was followed by the opening ceremony. Racing is scheduled to get underway on Tuesday at 12.00.
Finn class returns to Gdynia for European titles
The Finn Class returns to Gdynia, Poland, next week, for the 2026 Open and U29 European Championship. Held under the umbrella of the LOTTO Gdynia Sailing Days, the entry includes 110 Finns from 23 countries.
