Finn Focus at Rio2016: Giles Scott extends after incredibly close racing on fourth day

With just three races to sail at the Rio 2016 Olympic Sailing Competition, Giles Scott (GBR) has extended his lead to 17 points in the Finn fleet after a clinical performance on Saturday in Guanabara Bay. Vasilij Zbogar (SLO) stays in second while Jake Lilley (AUS) rises to third.

You had to see it to believe it. The third day of racing for Finns at the Rio 2016 Olympic Sailing Competition was a spectacular day of sailing with big winds, huge seas and even bigger stakes. While Giles Scott (GBR) moves into an 11-point lead and Vasilij Zbogar (SLO) hangs onto second, Zsombor Berecz (HUN), rockets up the fleet to third after a great performance.

Finn Focus at Rio2016: big day out on the high seas in Rio

It was a big day in Rio on the second day of racing for Finns at the Olympic Sailing Competition. Racing on the Niteroi courses area out on the open ocean, the Finn fleet excelled in the huge waves in big winds. Giles Scott (GBR) put his worries from Tuesday behind him to record the performance of the day to move into the overall lead. Vasilij Zbogar (SLO) drops to second while Alican Kaynar (TUR) drops one place to third.
