Giles Scott (GBR) has won the 2014 Finn Gold Cup at the ISAF Sailing World Championships in Santander. Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic (CRO) started the day in second overall and a win in the medal race comfortably gave him the silver medal. Ed Wright (GBR) eventually took bronze after a close battle with Jonathan Lobert (FRA).
The 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships in Santander came full circle on Saturday with the last of the fleet racing series abandoned in almost identical conditions that led to the abandonment of Monday's racing, six days ago.

Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic (CRO) moves up to second with Jonathan Lobert (FRA) dropping one to third. The gold fleet race wins went to Ed Wright (GBR) and Alex Muscat (ESP).
Giles Scott (GBR) continued to extend his lead on the Finn fleet on the fourth day of racing at the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships in Santander for the Finn Gold Cup. He now holds a 13 point lead after six races from Jonathan Lobert (FRA) and Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic (CRO).
Giles Scott (GBR) produced the kind of form of the third day of the 2014 ISAF World Championships in Santander thatmost sailors only dream about. He picked up three more bullets for a perfect score after four races to lead overall from Jonathan Lobert (FRA) and Ed Wright (GBR).
Two days into the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championship and after more than 13 hours afloat the Finn fleet has only one race to show for it. It was a good race though with wins going to Oliver Tweddell (AUS) and Giles Scott (GBR), but then after a long wait the fleet was sent ashore. Three races are now planned for Wednesday.
Many of the Finn sailors in Santander got a surprise when they saw the 2012 Olympic Silver medalist on the list of competitors in the Class. And they ask can he do the same as in 2009, when he won the worlds, after not having sailed for a year.
Excitement is building for the 80 Finn sailors from 32 nations heading into next week's Santander 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships. Not only will a new world champion be crowned, and receive the coveted Finn Gold Cup, but also the first 12 nations will qualify for a place at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Anders Pedersen (NOR) has won his first ever Finn Silver Cup, and in his last year as a Junior, without any more races being held. Arkadiy Kistanov (RUS) took the silver and Nened Bugarin (CRO) took the bronze. For the third day in a row the 32 Finn sailors set out from Hoorn and came back with no more races sailed.
